Welcome

SmileWelcome to my new blog.  I am still recovering from a very wet weekend at guide camp.  It was lots of fun and even though it rained most of the time I still got sunburnt!  Scored a bullseye in archery, peddled around a track in little go carts and canoed for a few hours too before the lightning forced us out of the water.  Out of 21 girls 14 had never been on guide camp before so it was quite hard work!  We also had little 5month old Lucy!  Only 5 weeks to go until week camp!

opphs just a little car crash I bumped into a BMW today on my way home from work. It was pulling out of the avenue of trees in Theydon Bois. I thought I would be able to get away with not telling anyone but my friend Bry witnessed it (I can’t believe she was there ‘cos she doesn’t even live in Theydon anymore) and also there is a tell tale bump on the front of my car. Thank goodness I didn’t damage the BMW!

Confession I see this site is gonna bring out confessions of all sorts! I wonder if Emily’s going to feel compelled to admit what all she’s put the polo through while no one was around.

We’re just glad that you’re OK, Sal!

Polo I would really like to hear that confession from Emily. Whenever I get into the Polo now a little voice from the dashboard says “I hope that’s not Emily geting in” and I have to speak softly to it for three minutes to reassure it before it will start. nigel

Polos Hey I was the most loyal driving to those polos! The funniest memory I have of the red polo, is when me and my friend Dave Matthews drove up to Luton to visit Luton University for one of their open days. It was pouring with rain that day so it was pretty treacherous on the motorway. Traffic was building up probably because of the rain, so all three lanes were going really slow. For some reason I turned into the fast lane. As I slowed to a stop the car died right there in the fast lane. Dave and I started to panic as traffic began moving again and we were stopped dead in the fast lane! The rain was heavy so there was alot of mist and backsplash. Big lorries whizzed past and we got frightened at the prospect of being rear-ended by a lorry at any moment! We called around with our phones, Simon wasn’t answering, I didn’t have Mum and Dad’s work number on my phone. But Dave finally got through to his Dad. “We’ve broken down on the M??” Dave said to his dad. “What lane are you in?” His dad replied. “The fast lane” Dave said. “Phone 999″ He Dad said abruptly. So the police came and stopped traffic for us while they pushed us over to the hard shoulder!!! We stopped traffic!! The best thing about it was that when we got back to school the next day, there had been a big case of Chinese whispers and it seemed like everyone had heard about us breaking down. Because while sitting waiting for the police we had rung around a few friends at school! haha (Obviously we had gotten permission to miss a day of school). I wonder if my friend Dave remembers that? Oh those poor little Polos, I remember a friend once describing the Polo as something he could have made in his D.T lessons. haha

Emily in the fast lane! That story made me chuckle! I broke down in on a hill at traffic lights in Exeter once in the red polo. When the AA arrived they just told me I’d run out of petrol! THe AA actually told me not to ring them up any more one year because I had called them more than my fair share!
